Mighty Staffs

What Does This Mod Do?

Mighty Staffs enables assets and items that already existed within Hytale’s game files but were non-functional. The mod author integrated these dormant assets by writing the missing crafting recipes, combat logic, and stat balancing to create a complete magic weapon progression system.

All staffs are crafted at the Blacksmith’s Anvil under a new Staff section, following the same ore progression as other weapons in Hytale.

Key Features

Ore-Based Progression

Just like swords, axes, and other weapons in Hytale, staffs follow the natural ore progression. Start with basic materials and work your way up to the most powerful magical implements.

Mana Bonuses

Each staff provides a passive mana bonus when equipped in your main hand, increasing your total mana pool and enabling more spell casts before needing to regenerate.

Special Effects

Higher-tier staffs gain special abilities:

  • Iron & Cobalt: Apply levitation effects to targets
  • Adamantite & Mithril: Deal area-of-effect damage around the impact point

The mod author highly recommends these complementary mods:

The Weaver’s Loom - Adds mage armor sets that increase your mana pool, perfect for keeping your damage output high with these staffs.

Mana & Stamina Tweaks - Makes mana regeneration percentage-based rather than fixed, so you always regenerate at the same rate regardless of your total mana pool.

How to Use

  1. Gather the required ores and materials
  2. Visit the Blacksmith’s Anvil
  3. Navigate to the Staff section (new tab)
  4. Craft your staff based on available materials
  5. Equip the staff in your main hand to gain mana bonuses
  6. Hold to charge, release to cast spells

Who Is This Mod For?

This mod is ideal for:

  • Players who want magic combat options
  • Those who enjoy crafting progression systems
  • Mage-style character builds
  • Anyone looking for ranged combat alternatives

You might not need this if:

  • You prefer purely melee combat
  • Your playstyle doesn’t involve mana management

Compatibility

  • Hytale Version: Early Access and above
  • Workbench Tier Keeper: Requires manual file deletion (see installation)
  • Conflicts: None known when following compatibility steps

Frequently Asked Questions

Will different staffs get unique projectile animations?

Yes, the author has confirmed that unique projectile animations for each staff tier are planned for future updates.

Do staffs break after using all charges?

Charges represent the durability of the staff. Once depleted, you’ll need to craft a new one.

Can I use staffs with shields?

Staffs must be equipped in the main hand to provide their mana bonus, so shield use depends on whether off-hand equipment is supported in your current Hytale version.
