BetterMap is a server plugin that fundamentally improves how the in-game map works in Hytale. Created by Paralaxe from the Ninesliced team, this plugin introduces persistent map exploration - meaning your map remembers everywhere you’ve been.
What Does This Mod Do?
By default, Hytale’s map only shows a small circular area around your character. As soon as you walk away, the map “forgets” where you’ve been. BetterMap changes this by permanently recording all areas you visit, effectively removing the fog of war from explored regions.

Persistent Exploration
The map retains all previously visited areas across sessions. Your exploration progress is saved, allowing you to see everywhere you’ve been even after logging out and back in.
Customizable View Range
Unlike the static vanilla circle, BetterMap allows you to configure the view range (circle size) to fit your gameplay style. Want to see more of your surroundings? Just adjust the settings.
Seamless Map Stitching
The plugin automatically combines explored chunks together, creating a comprehensive view of your world that grows as you explore.
Live Configuration
Adjust settings and reload them without restarting the server using the /bettermap command.
