A comprehensive animal breeding and taming mod that lets you expand your farm with baby animals. Feed animals to breed them, watch babies grow into adults, and tame your favorite creatures.
HyTame brings a complete animal breeding and taming system to Hytale, allowing you to build thriving farms with generations of animals.
Key Features
Breeding System
Feed two animals of the same type their favorite food to put them in love mode. When two animals in love are close enough, they will breed and produce a baby animal.
Baby Growth
Baby animals spawn from breeding and naturally grow into adults over time. Wild baby animals found in the world also mature as time passes.
Animal Taming
The latest version merges with the Tameable Animals mod. Now you must tame animals before breeding them. Feed taming food to wild animals to domesticate them.
Entity Persistence
Tamed animals are saved and survive server restarts. If a tamed animal despawns, it will respawn at its last position when a player approaches within 64 blocks.

Livestock (Enabled by Default)
- Cow, Pig, Chicken, Sheep, Goat
- Horse, Camel, Ram, Turkey
- Boar, Rabbit, Bison
- Plus variants: Desert Chicken, Mouflon, Wild Pig, Skrill, Warthog
Wild Animals (Optional)
Can be enabled via config or presets:
- Mammals: Wolf, Fox, Bear, Deer, Moose, and more
- Birds: Duck, Pigeon, Parrot, Owl, Crow, and more
- Critters: Frog, Gecko, Mouse, Squirrel
- Reptiles, Dinosaurs, Mythic creatures, and even Boss Dragons
Preset System
Several built-in presets offer different configurations:
- default_extended: Balanced settings with multiple food options
- lait_curated: Organic experience with logical growth times
- zoo: All real-world animals enabled
- all: Everything enabled including mythic creatures
Commands
Use the unified /breed command:
/breed status- View tracked animals and stats/breed config info <animal>- Check animal details and foods/breed tame <name>- Prepare to tame and name an animal/breed custom add <npcRole> <food>- Add creatures from other mods
Installation
- Place the JAR file in your server’s mods folder
- Restart the server
- Configure via commands or edit the JSON file
- Feed animals to start breeding
